The Children of Sheherazade

Erasmus+ Projekt Nov. 2021 bis Okt. 2024

Das erste europäische Forschungsprojekt zum Geschichtenerzählen als langfristiges Schulprojekt mit dem Schwerpunkt auf sozial-emotionalen Kompetenzen und der Entwicklung der Fantasie in der Grundschule.

Das Projekt basiert auf der Pilotstudie „Einsteins-Kinder“, die ebenfalls in Kooperation mit der Universität zu Köln in den Jahren 2012–2017, erfolgreich durchgeführt wurde.
Unter dem Titel „The Children of Sheherazade“ wird die Kompetenzentwicklung in Brennpunktschulen aus Dänemark, Griechenland, Belgien und Deutschland erforscht. Im Unterricht regen Erzähler*innen durch ihre Geschichten Fantasie und gemeinsame Werte an und motivieren zu interkultureller Verständigung. Mit standardisierten quantitativen Tests wird die Wirkung des mündlichen Erzählens auf die emotionalen und sozialen Kompetenzen der Schüler*innen untersucht.

Multiplier Event in Svendborg (DK)

Can Oral Storytelling improve children’s social and emotional skills and further the development of imagination?“

In cooperation with the Städtische Gemeinschaftsgrundschule Düppelstraße (Germany), the Städtische Grundschule Unterstadt (Belgium), ELIX (Greece), Vester Skerninge Friskole (Denmark), and Øster Åby Friskole (Denmark) we implemented "The Children of Sheherazade" in primary schools.

This project ist the first European scientific research project for storytelling as a long term school project with the main focus on social-emotional competencies and the development of imagination in primary schools.
Find out about the research and evaluation study (2021–2024) with partners in 4 countries and pupils from over 20 countries of origin.
